Yes, it will make a big difference.  There have been many upgrades in the
last few years.  I have one sitting here that is about the same age and I
need to send it off and get it upgraded too.  I am using another one that I
had upgraded, andit works quite well.  

 I have looked in my phone book to see if I could find the name and address
of where you should send it, but I did not find it, but I know I have it
somewhere around here.  I will keep looking for it, and if I find it, I
will pass it along to you.  It seems like the fellows name is Randy and his
business is something like RC Systems, but that does not do yo any good!
