bill, sorry, this isn't totally true, it really depends on what's
important.  If, "run Jaws first is checked, it will run before the
items in the startup group, and, if your installing or modifying
software or hardware, you will be able to hear the messages that they
put up.  If you don't run jaws first, and, your installing hardware, it
could be that the hardware wizard will have a question, you'll be vary
frustrated, because, your system will appear to have stalled when it is
just waiting for you to accept a selection or whatever.  I know for a
fact that having, "run jaws first," checked has saved my bacon on more
than 1 occasion!
