jfw3.3 with Eudora 4.01 very slow

I am noticing when I use the insert numpad 2 to read the messages it is a
very slow responce.  I see the screen move up and down and then jaws starts
reading.  I used to use and insert down arrow, but now the num pad has to
be used.  Can someone tell me how I can get a faster response?
