donna here is a tip i thought you might like, you see when sighted people go
to use the volume control they right click the volume icon in the task tray.
true jfw 3.2 should make this easier to do, but this tip was from a sighted
person that realized how much faster it is with a hot key.
here is the tip, you see the icon in the task tray is a short cut, so one can
easily assign a hot key to it so that volume can be accessed with a single key
stroke.
here we discuss how to add a hot key for volume icon in the system tray, this
saves much time.
unload all aps running
minimize all
tab to start button
shift key plus f 10 function key keystroke
hit p c cursor to turn on p c cursor
arrow to explorer
hit enter
now you are in tree view
arrow down to start menu if you are not already their
see if it is open, if not open then hit the right arrow key.
arrow to programs and open it if it is not already open.
arrow down to accessories
hit right arrow to open it
then look for entertainment in win 98, it may only say
ent
one can route the jfw cursor to verify that it is really entertainment if they
want to,
even if they do not they must turn on the jfw cursor.
[ 95 uses should look for
multi media instead of entertainment]
now with jfw cursor on do a page up then down arrow about 6 rows and listen for
volume control.
move over to volume with jfw cursor.
once on the word volume do a right mouse click.
now you are in the context menu
turn on p c cursor
arrow up to properties
hit enter
this multi page dialogue box is now present
i assume you can manuever through this, if not read under 98 tips multi page.
arrow over to short cut tab
i assume you are on the top visual tab here.
it will say short cut tab.
now tab 3 times until you are in the field where you enter the hot key.
now press 3 keys at same time, i picked
control plus alt plus letter v keystroke
then tab down to o k and hit enter.
now we are finished
