Hi, Stacy and all,
In applications which require a lot of typing, I turn the echo off.  In
applications that require a high degree of accuracy, I have typing set to
characters (eg. Internet Explorer, in which the web addresses have to be
exact.)  I notice that I use word echo as a sort of transition, and once I
feel comfortable with, say, a chat application, I switch the echo to none.
