Hello

Bill I'm wondering what your opinion is of people going to IE 5 who are
still using Windows 95 and JFW 3.2. Should it cause any major problems as
long as the newest scripts are used?

i e five in my opinion is beyond a doubt the best and first serious browser
m
s has to date.

the alt key pplus left arrow key keystroke does work, but one can do the
same
in i e 4 by right mouse button clicking , the key three over from right
of
space bar, and hitting letter n.

this opens a new browser.
closeing the new browser with
alt plus f 4 keystroke also takes user back to link 45 even in i e 4.

now here is why i e 5 is cool, first it has vastly improved its ability to
download f t p files.

this is one area netscape used to kick sand into the face of i e.

second on many servers if the download is interrrupted it does not have to
start all over from scratch.

enough said, that alone is all the reason one needs to upgrade.

now be aware i e 5 itself is causeing problems on certain systems.

though not real common some do experience these quircks.

i suspect they are less likely to occure on win 98 systems.
i suspect they will be even less likely to occure on win 98 b due out in
about
a month.

some of those problems have to do with reading the system tray.

so label those puppies prior to installing.
for instance i recommend a hot key for volume, especially if you use
software
only speech.
after invokeing it one can mute or un mute with
alt key plus letter m key keystroke

getting familar with all controls for volume is a good idea, because some
program may cause a change in them, such a bug existed in past with micro
phone
volume.

now with all that said, i personally am waiting on win 98 b.
of course i am very cautious, and it should be a relative safe upgrade.
plus i bought the commercial version of win 98, so the upgrad is supposed
to
be only 20 dollars.

if useing win 98 my suggestion is do all critical updats to operateing
system
first except active accessability.

i say this because hj says if you need a certain version of active
accessability they will provide it.

use window update feature to do this.

now the second great thing about i e 5 is they took note of netscape
reduceing
size.

i e 5 is smaller and much faster.

yes it allso has a bunch of little frills like auto type, and a multiple
search
engine.

their search engine is much better but does not incorporate multiple
search results into a single organized answer.

bottom line here, it saves time, and that is really importan, more so than
its
hyped frills.
