Sean I know the suggestion was ment to help but I must agree with Walt. If
most shops are like the one I worked in (before retiring) it took a couple
of days to get the support guys to put the programs on your machine that you
required, to get your work done.

find another way to earn a living. That suggestion, despite the fact that
I realize it's well-intended and quite probably effective, is totally
unacceptable, especially in a business environment where the user really
has little control over what is and isn't installed on their workstation,
when it's installed, etc. If I had to tell my employer that they needed
to expect to have to perform a full system rebuild for me once a year,
they'd laugh me out the door.
