Reading E-mail

    I am a relatively new user of JFW3.30.26, &  OE5, is it normal for the
following situation?

I am reading an e-mail message and finish.  I use control D to
delete the message and the next message in my In Box begins to be read.  I
am not given the opportunity to select the message I want to read, rather
JFW assumes I want to read the next message in line.
