Are you, by any chance, using a script assigned to the SpaceBar, such as the
ScriptTip I wrote to fix the problem of JFW not announcing the status of a
check box when the SpaceBar is pressed?
I'd disable that assignment and try the test again, if you do find that you
are indeed using that script. Please let me know if this is the case, and
I'll see if I can get it debugged.
