Hello Walter,
I generally leave modified scripts/functions where they are, since they may
need to be in that position due to compiling process precedence, and then
note it in a comment line under my own section. I place new additions in
the personal area.
Yes, it is a pain, but I'm not sure having JFW merge those modifications and
additions automatically is such a good idea--especially for HJ's sake, since
they'd be the ones catching heat rounds from users that find the new upgrade
locks up while they try to use a default function/script, which probably
won't process correctly because of one of the user's personal script
modifications taking out a vital function or two!
There are just too many scripts and functions to cause trouble in when
merging. The dictionary files, and the configuration files, are pretty
static in format and contents, so they would have no problem merging. The
frame files would probably have no problems either, if HJ used the same
format they use for messages found in the .jsm files; Frame522, Frame473,
Frame121, etc. With that format, the likelihood of the default frame names
and the user's frame names being the same would be greatly lessened.
