If this feature could be toggled, then the programmers would please
everyone. An even better alternative would be to have the ability to
speak links in a different voice. A couple of other folks suggested
this as well. It would tell you where the links are without
interfering with proper reading. I also like the feature in the new
jaws, and I arrow up and down and click on links more than I use tab.
But when I'm just reading the page, hearing the word link several
times in the middle of sentences can really make understanding the
info difficult.
