Hello,
Ever sense I upgraded from JFW3.2 to JFW3.3, I have had a problem with
JFW losing its speech, without prior warning or error messages.
I can be reading a line of text, clicking a menu option, switching
between open applications, etc. and JFW just quits talking.
Then, if I try to do some simple task like turn on the PC cursor, JFW
starts putting plus signs at the location of my PC cursor. This is
very dangerous, as I work with a good bit of critical data that I
can't afford to have replaced with pluses.
Usually, when JFW loses speech, it will continue to speak the window
titles as I alt/tab through the open applications, but that's all it
does. I lose all other JFW speech and functionality.
It doesn't matter what program I'm running ... It happens in MSIE,
MSOffice, and even on the desktop.
I have spent many hours on the phone with HJ tech support, trying to
resolve the problem, but so far I have not been successful. I have
even went as far as to have my computer rebuilt to meat HJ
specifications for audio and video driver and hardware compatibility.
If anyone has experienced this problem, or has some idea of what is
causing it to happen or ways to fix it, I would be greatly
appreciative for any assistance.
It gets very frustrating, having to restart JFW every time it quits
talking. Sometimes, I even have to reboot my system. It's not like
it only happens once or twice a day ... Some days, it happens 5 or 6
times an hour. This makes it very hard to get any work done.
I apologize for the length of this message, but hope that someone can
help.
I'm currently running JFW33 on a WIN98 Peer-to-peer network, my local
machine having a Cyrix 300 processor and 32 MB of SD RAM.

Thanks,
Alex Coleman
