Real Player will start in one of two ways. As a stand alone program which
you would start by finding it in your start menu or as an icon on your
desktop. When you start the program it plays a few notes to let you know it
is loaded. You should try this. The other way it starts is if you activate
a sound link on a web page or if a web page has a built in sound that plays
automatically.
By the way I went to www.vegasjusticecenter.org and there was no sound
there that I saw. There are difference sound formats and your system can be
set up to use different default players when it encounters a sound file.
Real Audio is one, win amp is another. When these are not installed it will
probably use Windows Media player.
Go to my web site www.speakandmagnify.com. When the site loads you should
immediately hear a midi file of Bill Bailey won't you please come home.
This way you can test to see if Explorer is set to play midi files
automatically. If you hear nothing, there might be a dialog box on the
screen saying Explorer needs to know how to handle this type of file.
Good luck
