They both will work, but at our agency we use HP and Umax almost exclusively
as they both seem to be faster and more reliable. I have one of the small
Microtech C3 scanners and you don't want it or the C6 as neither have the
ability to use the auto contrast feature present in Kurzweil1000 or OpenBook
Unbound Ruby Edition. Without that feature you can waste a lot of time
manually setting contrast from document to document.
