Dear Friends, The case of corruption and bribery in Indian Government Agencies is not only limited to Passport Office. Just recently me and my wife who is a foreigner registered for a residential permit in Visakhapatnam Police Station FRRO. We did the process including payment of chalan to the Bank required of it in the amount of 30 US Dollars. Then we went back to the FRRO, they asked many questions, some too personal questions, lest we continue. He asked me 500 Rupees for the processing. Then the Processing person (grey haired man sitting behind), did process our papers; and then he said come back by next week. So theN did we come back and ready to pick up our documents... before he handed down to us the residential permit, he ASKED me and said please give some amount just 500 Rupees. I made a sigh, I said I have no money anymore. You married a foreigner why couldn't you give such amount? Fortunately he released the documents. See, even the Police Officials assigned in the Police FRRO are also corrupt.
