The reason behind this apparent 'inversion' in Kerala is actually a result
of the centuries-old interaction of caste hierarchies with successive
arrival Christian churches. This study has not made a startling new
discovery and there is extant literature in sociology on caste hierarchies
among Christian churches in Kerala.
