A basic reality that those who engaged in discussions on terrorism of
religious orders must bear in mind
is that all major religions became big ones through acts of annihilation of
the opposition,
coercion, illegal appeasement, fraudulent practices, or acts of war by
trucking the idea of expansion of religion with the social and political
agencies in power.

In the times of royalty innumerable examples are out there to suggest how
cruel the religious campaigners were when it came to making success in
making their belief by size of the clientile, a rat race in which all sense
of dignity and rights of human beings to remain in peaceful life were
violated

In the 20th century India (students of history would certify how), the unity
of the Indian population
in fighting the atrocious British regime was shattered by the British
through acts of communalising I
Indian civil space Those who got material, social and political dividends of
this power game remained in power and did nothing to mend the the soul of
the new India.

In the recent times, the state in India turned face away from crimes against
atrocities, in Delhi 1984,
Post Babri Masjid, Gujarat 2002, and Orissa and other states in 2007-2008.
Our experience in India
suggest the close link between power and impunity.

It is interesting to note what Asif Ali Sardari i wrote n the HINDU ,after
the Mumbai terrorist attacks
He clearly stated that orgin and spread of Taliban is to be located in the
cold war games of
the two super powers and the role of the US is more conspicuous in it. There
are times in political establishments when the desire to dominate the world
leads wanton acts of cruelty on 'lesser' others
cold war was such a political situation where many national communites, who
had same right as US or the USSR to exist as sovereign states, we merely
dominated, spoiled and eternally cursed with terrorism or
poverty, or internal conflicts.

Some political ideologies survive on an ideology of nacropolitics, so that
their survival means death to others
The rightist politics (economic or social) is clear of this category. Some
sections of the traditional left also
belongs to this category as well.

Most important is to take an independent position based on understanding and
analysing the social forces
responsible to the situation.

I understand why the Vigil is named so, saying without saying an absence of
Muslims. And also I am disturbed by the expressions of *Joe Kaufmann* that
"*To the world's Muslims, I say get out from hiding and speak out against
the groups that commit this evil, because you know that your radical
brethren target you as well. And to the world, I say do the right thing --
before it's too late to do anything."

Such collective branding expose certain intolerence and defenitly a lack of
openess. Like the position of the VHP -RSS -Bajrangdal position to Muslims
and Christians in India

Lets also look at how the understanding on terrorism gets myopic when the
comprehensivesness
is missout and selections are done with political intentions. What about the
terror states commit
why dont we speak on it as well, or are we just become mere obedient clients
of the states

Lets also think of people in Gza, Jaffna, Kashmir, Innumerables places in
Latin America and Africa where everyday opens into mechine gunfire,
