I follow this topic with interest. Your solution is nice, e.g. for listening to your own music at work on a PC, but not the thing I want. I want a friend to be able to connect to my SBS with his squeezeboxes via the net directly. I have a dynamic IP but dyndns configured. Port 3483 would be forwarded to my SBS. His router doesn't have the option to forward ports or port ranges to a url (my dyndns url), only to a IP. So we're stuck, as I dont have a static IP. If there is a hack, how to add an external music library via url (and not only via IP), this would be my perfect solution.
Other solutions would be: get myself a static IP address from my ISP. Or create a VPN connection through our routers. Mine would support it, his not (again). Ideas, thoughts?
