I was checking the description of this 'filter 2D' in the wiki, http://wiki.jmol.org/index.php/File_formats/Coordinates#MOL_and_SD_.28Symyx_MDL.29 and have an idea:
Bob, how hard would it be to have the mol reader recognize the 2D field (included in the MOL official spec, *) and apply the same procedure that is applied when using 'filter "2D"' in load? That way, by default any 2D MOL file declared as such will be processed to make a 3D model, both using load and load inline and without the need to remember to apply the filter. (*) The defining tag (2D or 3D) must be located in line 2, columns 21-22 but is currently ignored by Jmol
