In my browser the image is presented above a lightgrey background and 
for me also looks almost like the one I created with Gimp. But when I 
stored it locally and opened it with Gimp I could see that the white 
atoms and bonds look like a clothes moth has eaten quite a while.

But this might be fixable by changing the background color prior to the 
capture command like I also suggested for my function.
Brenton, I guess the background color was white when you did the capture 
command, wasn't it?
