This event revolves around three core things : A. LUG Participants who are welling to extend a hand. B. Determining and fixing the best place and time. C. Spreading the word and having as many people attend as possible. A. Participants : ------------------------ Here is the initial participants list, the more the merrier. Place and Time. ----------------------------- As for the date, I would suggest having it on a Saturday; Saturday November 29th sounded like a good one; its after the second but before the final exams We just want to avoid that being in the middle of the exams. Otherwise, we'll have to do it between the two semesters which is somehow a long shot that would like to avoid. The best place we could think of is JEA. Because no university would allow people to bring their pc's. Obada, I am still waiting for you to confirm JEA availability so we write the official book. Task B.1. If you can help or have a better suggestion about time and place please let know. C. Preparations and spreading the word : ---------------------------------------------------------------- Most of the audience are expected to be university students. So we need the help of every one who is in a university; a student, supervisor or teacher to spread the word. Task C.1. We need a list of all universities and major places in amman and jordan along with voluanteers who can place the Advertisement brochour. We need a large number of people here. Task C.2. We need help in making a quick design for a brochour that can be placed every where? Task C.4. I think we are ok with making hand-copies say 300 to 500; divided between (k)ubuntu and fedora. We don't have to order from elsewhere and wait for it, this is why we love FLOSS, no? ;-) Task C.5. It would be great if we could make a remastered (aka respinned) version of any or all the above distros that would have the latest updates, Arabic fonts, mediacodecs and some drivers.This will make it much easier with people who have slow internet connection. Task C.6. Provide internet connection: I can take care of that, I will bring a 2Mbps WiMax device with a router.
