I meant that, if it really happens and the deal goes through, which I don't think so since Yahoo! are not that stupid, then the alternatives are there, and if they aren't there, creating them won't be that difficult. If Linus Torvalds managed to create the strongest open source alternative to Microsoft's greatest pile or rubbish called "Windows", then creating an alternative to Yahoo! won't be a very big, in my opinion. We all know, mail services and search engines are no longer something that can't be done, or something that need that huge kind of effort. Plus, in my opinion, I've just started using Gmail only a couple of weeks ago, and honestly? I'm starting to blieve it's way far much better, faster, and safer than both Yahoo! mail and hotmail.
