In the time that I have been a member of this list - since after the 1998 Joni tour when I subscribed so that I would know of any future tours and never miss one again - there have been many people on this list who have been very kind to me. I can never thank everyone enough. I know that I am not even bright enough or gracious enough to remember everyone who has been good to me. I have been sitting here thinking of all the many kindnesses that have been shown to me and the list keeps growing as I remember more and more. It is amazing. People have sent me videotapes, cds, shirts, pictures, drawings, gifts, and a lot of friendship. When I ran for a local race in the last election, I received financial support from folks in the JMDL. People have been willing to travel to meet me, just because they are good people and wanted to express the community that exists in the JMDL. I am sitting here thinking on these things and the list of people who have been good to me keeps growing. I am literally sitting in my living room surrounded by tangible evidence of the goodness of folks in the JMDL. And that doesn't include the intangible goodness that I have received from this community. And I also have to admit to myself that I have done little in response and I am ashamed, sorry, embarrassed. So for the past 8 months the videotape of the movie Grace of My Heart has been for sale at my local videostore. Obtuse as I am, it takes until yesterday to think, I should buy this and find a good home for it because of so many folks have been good to me. I have secured a good home for the videotape and now it makes me want to do more. Thank you my friends. This post has no other purpose than to say what I have just said. (the Rev) Vince
