I look forward to checking out that website..thank you Shane, I think
gratefulness is key to a happy life. I am always needing to cultivate that
wonderful point of view. Over the years I think I have discovered a little
attribute about gratitude that I would like to share since we are on the
subject. I think many here already know this but all I really know is
somehow it works for me.
My life is pretty groovy right now but at one point in my life I was going
through a myriad of struggles...for a looooong time. So to make myself feel
better instead of feeling the lack of something (especially in this very
affluent town) I would look at all the things that I was grateful for in my
life. One of them was getting to live here in this town even if I was barely
hanging on. Another was when a woman who had CP befriended me & boy did I
realize what a gift it was to have my physical self working pretty well. I
discovered so many more things to be grateful for...It always made me feel
better to concentrate on those things instead of what wasn't working in my
life (while trying to improve things at the same time).
Well, I think there may be a certain magic to that & I have come to
suspect that cultivating gratitude magnetically attracts the good stuff to
your life. I liken it to feng shui... if you want to improve your life in
someway you do certain things in the sector of you home that corresponds to
that part of your life...but you also do things in the opposite sector
because that has a great effect as well. Does this make sense to anyone? Its
kind of like "build it & they will come"... instead it is think it & it will
come into being...Awhile ago Colin was discussing grace...I wonder if grace
is sometimes a product of gratitude...I surely know that gratitude is a
product of grace.
" i belong to an association tied to the inspiration of 'gratefulness',
in the belief that the practice of it transforms one's life and
world...rejection has been my daily bread, but i believe i am called to
continually show gratitude nonetheless for the privilege of love...that's
what its all about...many will not gain the whole world, but will grow
towards this universal love...
