Nuriel asked:
<<"Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief" (Fiction) -

Is this an expression? (I heard it also in the new Dylan album so
being the non-american that i am i'm a bit confused :) >>

the whole series is:
"tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor,
rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief,
doctor, lawyer, indian chief"

we used it, in elementary school, as a jump rope rhyme. the jump
you "missed" on supposedly indicated the occupation of your
spouse-to-be.

cindy, who always "accidentally" missed on "indian chief."

oh - incidentally - there was a cheesy series of books, "rich
man, poor man," then "beggar man, thief," made into a miniseries
in (i think) the 80's
