A muumuu is a Hawaiian dress, just a big old long baggy print dress,
like Mama Cass used to wear, or Hilo Hatty.
The go-aheads (maybe it's a Californism) are thongs, flip-flops,
clackers, specifically cheap ones. My mom (native N.Cal) called them
that in the 60's.
