<<I know that most of the covers of Joni's "This Flight Tonight" have drifted to the heavy metal side, but I think the Mama's Boys rendition is the best I've heard yet and not to heavy at all. I guess "This Flight Tonight" is *the* JONI tune that can be played in a heavy metal style more than any of her other songs.>>
Wait 'til you hear the version by Zimmer's Hole! I was very pleasantly surprised by the Mama's Boys recording. It's a nice middle ground. And I'm most crazy about the Rumba Club cover a couple of discs ago. Love that one! And I got a pretty funny one over the weekend, by a European guy called James Last. Apparantly when the "Stars on 45" phenomenon caught on, this guy put out record after record of pop medleys with people clapping their hands, and in lieu of singing the actual lyrics, just singing da-da-da-da-da and such. Last's records were called "Non-Stop Dancing". Can any Euro's fill us in with any more info about this guy? Jimmy, thanks as always for your support of the project! (And as for you, Mr. Murphy, I will only say that Jimmy in his generosity has sent me WAY more than blanks & postage!);~) Bob NP: Crowded House, "Now We're Getting Somewhere"
