I always thought that the line - - any eye for detail caught a little lace
along the seam -- said much in response to Wolfe's BoHo Dance. Actually I
thought it may have been a bit defensive on Joni's part. Ahh, I'm gonna guess
that Wolfe wasn't particularly taken by the BoHo dancers and created the
stereotype ... some characteristics Joni may have had. Christ, we all had
'em in those days. But any eye for detail did catch a little lace along the
seam (later Joni was singled out for looking like a LA Housewife or something
close because she dressed nicely for a party). What do journalists really
want? Quoting from one of Cohen's song she remarks on her slight by saying it
put her in mind of his question about a woman wearing rags when she didn't
need to.
