It's not crystal clear, Jimmy, from what I can tell. None of the sites I looked at delineated who did what. BUT Hartman & Midnight wrote the entire "Gravity" project for JB (a South Carolina native). "Living In America" was the most well-known song from Gravity. I'm sure the statement about "Midnight writing for Joni Mitchell" is relative to this song, and is sort of like saying that Joni writes for Jim Nabors! LOL! My hunch is that they're more of a "Lennon-McCartney" team than a "Rodgers-Hart" team; that is that both Hartman & Midnight write both words & music. The mystery continues...
