- a table with one big bowl of rice and 30 to 50 small bowls of a wide
variety of dishes, meat, vegetables, fish, tofu, spicy, sweetish, pickled,
fried, etc. And it makes you realize that the essence, the food, is simple
(rice, just rice). How you spice up your food is up to you. But whatever you
pick, you always share certain choices with others. And you talk about what
you share. Food as a sharing experience can be so soothing. I believe that
sharing food - particularly preparing meals together - can be a katalyst in
solving problems.

This reminded be of gentleman friend (former boss) I use to have....when we
would go out for dinner he would help himself to my plate before he would
dive into his own. NO LIE! I was taken back a little the first time he did
this,I must say. He and I both loved food,so I guess he was curious as to
what my dish tasted like. He was fair though, because very enthusiastically
he would say.."now try mine! Taste mine!"

Also, the rice meal you described sounds very interesting. I do a dish
similar: Curried chicken.....over rice. Then I have small bowls filled with
peanuts, coconut, chutney,(I use Major Grey's. I have never attempted to make
my own from scratch)chickpeas, cut up apples....and people choose what they
want to top off their dish with. (the gentleman friend gave me this
recipe)

Joni Content: This is the dish I would prepare for her. :-) But what
music would I play? That is the question.

>But then ... I am slightly ;-)) overweight.

You are not alone!
