I think that same SOTR version is also in themovie Meet Joe Black.

That's the same version. The first time I heard Israel Kamakawiwole was in
MEET JOE BLACK (overlong movie; would have walked out if not for the
beautiful Claire Forlani), and I looked him up in the internet. He died a
few years ago.
I am familiar with "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" because this was taken
from THE WIZARD OF OZ, but the one powerful version of it was by Jevetta
Steele from the CORRINA CORRINA soundtrack. Not even Jane Monheit, Sylvia
McNair or (sorry if I am being sacrilegious here) Judy Garland. Steele's
version has this undeniable soul that cuts through the heart.
