time for another game of "Guess What Song The Great Joni-Bob is Thinking
Of??" Take care, only 22 more days! Love, Tushie

Well, we made it! Thanks to alert jazzlover & dedicated Joni coverhound
Joseph Palis, we hit the major 1000 milestone with:

"Twisted" by Stella Ignacio, from "Jazzette" - 1996

"FOUL!!" You cry...

"OFF WITH HIS HEAD" shouts the angry mob...

"JONI DIDN'T WRITE TWISTED" offers the scoffing purist...to which the VP of
Covers responds:

Well, this is true...BUT Stella has stated that Joni was her inspiration for
this recording, and indeed you can tell it when the muted trumpet sounds at
the start all the way to the multi-tracked vocals at the end. This one is
PURE Joni cover!

(The mob backs down, lowers their torches and disperses peacefully...)

Thanks Joseph for being my ears & eyes in the Pacific rim! And a MAJOR
thanks
to all who have helped me identify & collect all this information and
music -
we can give ourselves a well-deserved hand!

Now on to the next 1000 (but don't worry, I shant bore you with the
count)...until we get to 1990! ;~)

Bob

NP: Tracey Campbell, "Big Yellow Taxi" (awesome sultry jazz piano version)
