She has > very good versions of this song, studio and live. I think they are on Verve.
Personally I prefer Billie's first recording of 'God Bless the Child' sometime around 1941, I think. It was on Vocalion or Brunswick or Columbia - one of those early labels that she started out recording for. I agree that the Decca version with the small choir singing backup was not a stellar version of this wonderful song. Mark E in Seattle
