As a native Texan, I have of course heard my share of racial epithets. But growing up I always heard the term "coon ass" used to refer to folks from Louisiana - I think Cajuns specfically. A lot of my family is from Louisiana originally so I guess that's why I heard it, but I was never clear exactly what a "coon ass" was. Don't we have someone here from South Louisiana who can clarify this for me?
