I'm a big fan of:

www.yootheme.com
www.joomlashack.com

The yootheme templates are beautiful out of the box.

The joomlashack templates are a little more 'flat', however they are very easy
to edit and modify if you know css, especially optimuspro, it is amazing what
can be done with a simple template.

Subject: [joomla] Templates for Joomla 1.5

I am a new user to Joomla and I am
looking for a source to either create or
download templates.
My friend referred me to
www.artisteer.com.

Is this a good choice or should I be
exploring other sources first.
