OK. Sorry for polluting this thread, but I thought it would be helpful for others to see the process I've gone through here.
Final update is that if I delete cookies, clear my cache and restart FF, I get my custom theme downloaded. You may not need to do all three, one may work, but I am all set with experimenting here -- this process is good enough for now; I have to get some real coding done. Thanks.
