As of this month, rhe netcraft site lists JavaWebServer (and some reference
servers) as having the following market penetration:

Web Server TOTAL com uk ca us mx gov gt
============        ======= ======= ====== ===== ==== ==== ==== ===
Apache 3928112 2151472 186528 25459 8804 6288 1397 128
Microsoft-IIS 1552083 873198 49239 13091 9394 4972 1204 195
Netscape-Enterprise 432481 267749 12280 5406 2003 754 717 14
JavaWebServer 1719 999 74 34 7 0 0 1
JRun 237 82 1 0 0 0 0 0

Total Servers: 7,078,194

JavaWebServer represents 0.02% of the market. We have a *long* way to go.
Even with the JRun, ServletExec, etc. plugins, I doubt we are even close to
0.05%.

Mainstream webserver development in Java is probably a long way off.
Hopefully, the strong interest in server-side Java for corporate Intranet
development will continue to grow steadily. More examples of JSP and a bevy
of reusable beans should sway even more corporate developers to the JSP
fold.

sites rather than JSP sites (see Mark Kolb's post). I notice that many of
the URL's refer to "BV_SessionID". That seems to be a dead giveaway.
Remember - the ".jsp" extension doesn't necessarily mean it is JavaServer
Pages.
