TomCat Classpath

Hello,
 
I am using Apache TomCat 4.01. I am doing some test code.
 
I want to know:
 
1. Where I need to put my class files for my web applicaiotn. I see many class folders in the install directory.
2. Also, please specify the changes I need to make in the class path.
