For the rest of you that were there, what were your thoughts/favorite
presos (as of course I didn't make it to all)? Any good book
recommendations (I bought the Better, Faster, Lighter Java, but am
still reading through it)?

Hi all,
Just thought I'd shoot a note out to everyone on the conference. If
you haven't gone to one of these imagine 90 minute sessions all
weekend long of the topics that we get at our meeting, except you
don't have to wait a month to see an excellent speaker. The sessions
this weekend covered everything, from Web services to class loaders.
Every one of the speakers that I saw were excellent and full of good
information, certainly sparked my interest.
My favorite session? Hmm, I got something good out of all of them,
most of the sessions I attended I already knew something about the
technology and had used it somewhat. I'd have to say my favorite part
was the expert panels that were held (3 total), all of the panel
members had interesting viewpoints and expressed them quite clearly
and they all didn't whole-heartedly agree with one another which made
it more interesting ;-).
So, if you haven't been I highly recommend you make it a point to try
and make it next year.
Just FYI I attended Erik Hatcher's presentation on Tapestry as well as
Nick's presos on AspectJ. I also attended Stuart Halloway's sessions
on Metaprogramming (some aspect-related material and other items on
factory creation) and Intro to Reflection as well as Dave Thomas' talk
on the Open Source model and how you can bring that model in-house to
make great software. All of these were excellent.
