well, actually, typewriters DID start the whole "two spaces" thing,
before then the amount of space used was a variable block of type,
which varied according the the typesetter/publisher/country/fashion.
Typewriters quantified that as two "spaces". But that's also a bit
irrelevant.
It doesn't make a bit of difference to me either way, I just didn't
want you to accept some style that was completely at odds with the
accepted conventions.
