Understood. I don't have any ideas on how to get rid of the gap off
the top of my head. How are the editing toolbox buttons laid out?
Would a change in layout manager help?

I'm not strongly opposed to your changes, and don't ultimately have a
problem with the commit. Just thought we might cause users some head
scratching. :]
