Ok, so a few things to note:
1) kwin things the contents are coming from an Xwayland application
I assume you copied from Chrome. Is chrome running in X11 mode? A quick test
is to run xprop and hover over chromium, if the cursor becomes a + shape, then
it's in X.
If not... do you have an X11 clipboard manager running in the background?
