I ran xprop and confirmed that Chrome appears to be running in X11 mode.  I
assume that this is the situation after an upgrade from an earlier version of
Kubuntu; I did nothing (AFAIR) to cause this.

Should I be taking steps to run Chrome under wayland?  Kubuntu 25.04 was not
the first version to switch to wayland; I think that happened with 24.10, or
even earlier (I recall some things no longer being available after the switch
(such as nvidia proprietary drivers)).  The problem under discussion didn't
happen until much later.

By the way, since I removed the Clipboard applet, copy/paste seems to be
working, but of course I've lost access to the historic objects held in the
list.  Should I put it back or carry on as is for a while longer?
