            Bug ID: 526308
Summary: plasmashell crashes in infinite loop after screen lock
/ suspend when Brave browser is running under Wayland
                    (Intel Graphics)
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
      Version First master
       Reported In:
          Platform: Kubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: generic-crash

  Target Milestone: 1.0

I am experiencing a critical regression on Kubuntu 26.04.1 (LTS). On an Intel
integrated graphics setup running a pure Wayland session, the desktop
environment (plasmashell and kscreenlocker) enters an unrecoverable infinite
crash loop (crashRecursionCounter = 2) after the screen turns off, goes to
suspend, or locks.

The root cause seems to be an incompatibility between Chromium-based browsers
(specifically Brave Browser using hardware acceleration) and the Wayland/Vulkan
compositor under Plasma 6.

When Brave is launched from the terminal under Wayland, it spam-logs the
following error right before the desktop compositor fails:
"--ozone-platform=wayland" is not compatible with Vulkan. Consider switching to
"--ozone-platform=x11" or disabling Vulkan.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot a fresh Kubuntu 26.04 (Plasma 6, Wayland session, Intel i915 graphics).
2. Launch Brave Browser (default configuration with hardware acceleration
active).
3. Leave the system unattended until the screen turns off or locks.
4. Wake the system. The desktop is missing, and crash assistant windows for
'plasmashell' and 'kioworker' loop infinitely.
5. Rebooting the system does not fix it because the broken session state is
saved, making the user profile completely unusable until `.config` and `.cache`
files are manually wiped via TTY.

Workaround found:
- Wiping fontconfig cache (`fc-cache -r` and removing `~/.cache/fontconfig`)
temporarily restores the desktop.
- Forcing Brave to run under XWayland via `--ozone-platform=x11
--disable-vulkan` prevents the crash from happening entirely.
- Note: This exact setup with Brave under Wayland works flawlessly on Kubuntu
24.04.

Hardware/Software environment:
- OS: Kubuntu 26.04 LTS (Development branch/early release)
- KDE Plasma Version: 6.x
- Graphics: Intel Integrated Graphics (i915 driver)
- Display Server: Wayland (X11 removed by default in 26.04)
