            Bug ID: 432369
Summary: Wrong time for mp4 in _almost_ all places, metadata
differs from filesystem/other apps. DB issues?
           Product: digikam
           Version: 7.2.0
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Metadata-Date
          Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: filigra...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi!

This is on Arch Linux running latest git version as of today:
digikam-git v7.2.0.beta2.r416.g466d66f1a0-1

Had the same issue on version 7.1.0-5 and -7 (probably before, but hadn't
noticed).

I have mp4 files in my database, and some of them have the wrong date (H:M)
shown on the thumbnail, making them sort wrong.
I have edited metadata using exiftool to correct for DST issues, but DigiKam
will not see the new timestamps for some files.

The metadata is correct using exiftool, mediainfo and ffprobe. It is my
understanding that DigiKam uses ffmpeg for mp4 files? So ffprobe should show me
the same data as DigiKam does, but it does not.

I have tried reading the metadata from the file, copying the file to a new one
and refreshing the directory. Same thing.
I even tried removing my database and starting from scratch. Same data read.

What fields does DigiKam read from mp4 files?

Screenshots uploaded here: https://postimg.cc/gallery/dGjS43c

I have found two places where DigiKam DOES see the right time: the metadata
field "Date and Time Original" in the "XMP Extended Video Schema" group, and
the "Shot Date" in the "Dynamic Media" group. But that's it. Except for the
properties, but that's the file modify date if I'm not mistaken?

Output from exiftool: https://pastebin.com/Yk7aKFp9
Output from ffprobe: https://pastebin.com/RbFxuQpc
Output from mediainfo: https://pastebin.com/imQrKqqH

No other app mentions "21:27" as timestamp. Except for the "+02:00" timezone,
but I don't think DigiKam takes that into account, or all my videos would be
off ... especially the properties window.

Any more info I can provide? Let me know!

So far the only thing I have found that works is to adjust the time & date and
just choose to subtract nothing, but that seems more like a workaround than a
solution, creating xmp files when I shouldn't have to.

Regards,
Thomas
