Hi Gary, so far we were concentrating on more basic issues - making the whole stuff compile, fixing crashes. The performance issues will be more difficult to track down. Certainly many features are affected by graphic card/its drivers, there are differences in performance between ati/nvidia etc. It would be good you you could try it on different hardware and report back if you see a difference. We'll need people who can analyze such issues, D-Trace gurus, wizards of all kinds, as well as ordinary users with good observation skills to smoothen the KDE experience on Solaris. > > I also find that KDE sometimes just stop working. > All of a sudden applications won't start. do you mean all applications or only kde ones? if you have a konsole running and start them from there, are there any hints? anything useful in ~/.xsession-errors? or /var/adm/messages? > > Besides these issues, I'm pretty happy with what I'm > seeing. > > Gary thanks for the feedback P. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
