We use packages, since unless you have an Alpha there's really no reason not
to use the packages provided by the FreeBSD project which are rebuilt
regularly. [There's occasional glitches, like last week's 6-CURRENT packages
in the 5-STABLE dirs, but hey.] Then it's (a) less data to download total (b)
no compile time. Win-win!
