Hey guys! Small update:
Compiling the latest git of ffmpeg did not help unfortunately, also converting the audio to 48khz did not work. The only way I have been able to get rid of all audio pops in a 5 minute video is by changing the project profile from 59.9FPS to 25FPS or lower. I am now convinced that it is actually the frame rate of the video that is at fault. Now I use a lot of slide animations which I would like to be rendered at 60FPS in order for them to appear smooth. Is there any way I can export the audio with 25FPS pacing, but still be applicable to a 60FPS source? I am out of ideas, unfortunately.
