First, we have to submit these upstream as individual patches, so keeping them separate from the get-go helps us here. Second, there's going to be at least a few patches as there's stuff we simply don't want to push on Andrew (such as cfi_annotations.patch) as it's simply too ugly to be accepted, or in other cases the work isn't fully finished.
