Scholarships for European Master Programme
We would like to inform you of the Erasmus Mundus master course in mathematics
named ALGANT, and we wish to encourage qualified non-European students to
submit an application for a two-year scholarship within this program.
The ALGANT course is part of a European program aimed at encouraging and
enabling highly qualified students from all over the world to obtain
credentials and/or experience at the master's level in the European Union.
Ours is the only Mundus course in pure mathematics.
The stipend will be in the amount of 21000 euros per year (about 27000 USD).
This amount will enable students to cover
all their exepenses, tuition and travel included.
We are in a position to offer up to 26 scholarships, of which *at least* 5 for
students from India, 2 for students
from China, and 6 for students from other Asian countries, of which 1 from
Thailand and 1 from Malaysia.
The ideal candidate should be between 20 and 25 and must possess an academic
degree from a program lasting a minimum of three years (bachelor). A thorough
proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
The master course is organized by a consortium which involves the
universities of Bordeaux (France), Leiden (The Netherlands) and Padova (Italy).
We offer a joint curriculum in Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory whose double
object is on the one hand to prepare students
for PhD programmes and on the other hand
to introduce them to current applications in such related fields as
cryptography and coding theory.
We would be grateful if you could forward this call for applications as widely
